Welcome to Geneva Kent Elementary

It’s a pleasure, on behalf of the faculty and staff, to welcome you to Geneva Kent Elementary School. It is our desire to help children excel in academic skills in a safe environment that fosters acceptance of others and provides a variety of positive experiences. The cooperation of staff, the children, and the community has enabled us to meet this challenge and makes Geneva Kent a great place for learning.

Geneva Kent Elementary is a K-5 school located off Norway Avenue in Huntington, West Virginia.

We have 280 students and are in a friendly, child-oriented community. Though

not a Title 1 school, we provide a variety of services and activities to our students. These include such things as an active Student Council, Jump Rope teams, a Russian Club, a SADD club, after school tutoring, modern library with a computer lab, and an excellent Response To Intervention program. We are also proud of the fact that we are a Professional Development School in partnership with Marshall University, and are in the process of becoming a 21^st Century Model School.

A look at our No Child Left Behind data reveals that nearly 90% of our 3^rd, 4^th, and

5^th grade students last year scored at Mastery or above in the Language Arts section

of the WESTEST. We are very proud of that accomplishment.

We have our new Accelerated Reader program up and running.
